Winter Programs




We love our snowy winters in Steamboat skiing, but  players also still want to find time to keep up with their soccer skills. 


If you are a soccer player looking to take your game to the next level, if you want to keep up on your soccer skills and learn new skills during the winter months, or play small-sided games, then check out our Winter Programs!



Futsal:

One of our most popular programs! Sunday Futsal is a 5v5 format (4 field players + a goalkeeper). Futsal is a fast-paced game that provides the opportunity to improve players' decision-making skills, more touches on the ball, confidence in 1v1 situations, and is loads of fun!

Small-Sided Games:

provide players more opportunities to get touches on the ball while increasing spatial awareness and decision-making. SSG's offer constant transition from attack to defense with increased 1v1 encounters that will improve ball skills. Depending on numbers each session players may play a variety of 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, or up to 5v5 games. Game based play provides the best, holistic learning environment and is credited with producing some of the best players around the world, and SSG's are always a TON of FUN!


Summit Training: Technical & tactical development through rondos, positional play, and small-sided games. This is for players who are committed to their development.


Speed & Agility: Improve on your ability to stop, start, & change direction with and without the ball.  Program elements will include muscle activation, speed/agility, power, and strength.


Goalkeeper Training is designed to keep players sharp in preparation for the spring season. Players will work on the following skills:

  • Footwork and handling
  • Shot stopping
  • 1v1s and breakaways
  • Reactions/reflexes
  • Crosses and highballs
  • Distribution

Futsal

Games are played on Sundays and usually do not start until after noon.
