Boys & Girls

The Competitive Program is designed for players interested in playing at a higher level of competition and under the guidance of a paid coach.  Games are played in a home/away format with opponents in Colorado and Wyoming.


In the Competitive Program, families are expected to travel to the Denver area or mountain towns for away games. Home games will be played at Emerald Fields.


There is a mandatory player placement process for all competitive players which is held annually around the end of May or the first week of June. Your child will be placed by development level and can move from one team to another based on development throughout the year.


At the competitive level, playing time is shared, but it is not equal. Playing time is at the coach's discretion and takes into consideration absenteeism, tardiness, or general behavioral issues, in addition to the skill of the player, the quality of the opponent, and the competition.

Uniforms/Practice Jersey

Uniforms are an additional cost. The club runs on a two-year cycle for uniforms, and we will start the new cycle in the fall of 2024. Information on purchasing uniforms through We Got Soccer will be sent out after team formations. Please order your uniform in June after player placements so you have it in time for the Steamboat Mountain Soccer Tournament.

Work Deposit: $200

As a non-profit organization, we depend on and greatly appreciate the support of our families who volunteer. The Steamboat Mountain Soccer Tournament, Soccer Ball, Soccer Academy, and the Raffle income go toward reducing fees for players.

There is a work deposit of $200 per player, with a two-athlete per family maximum of $400 to encourage volunteerism. All work deposits are due at Player Placements. The work deposit check will be held and not deposited unless the family chooses not to volunteer. Each family is required to volunteer 4 hours per player.

Additional Information:

  • Refund Policy for Competitive Programs: There is a $100 non-refundable registration fee for anyone who has to cancel before teams are announced. Refunds are NOT granted after teams are announced.  Partial refunds will be granted for medical reasons only with a doctor's note.
  • For Scholarship Information, please email admin@steamboat-soccer.com. Partial and full scholarships are available.
  • Payment plans are available during the registration process.
  • Credit card fees of 2.9% and processing fees are added at check-out. ACH fees are 1.5%. Families also have the option of paying by cash, check or Venmo. Contact Jan if you wish to pay by one of these methods.
  • State/Presidents/Centennial Cup/ any additional Tournaments (for suitable & interested teams) are an additional cost, and families are asked to cover the tournament registration fee as well as any coaches travel expenses for these tournaments.
  • Traveling expenses for away games are an additional cost.
